Inspiring People

fab 4

When did keeping up with the Joneses mean who had it worse? Frankly, I have never been a fan of comparing yourself to other people. Especially when those other people are celebrities that put on a front for the media. The air brushed models who instantly lose 15 pounds and have no blemishes or wrinkles. The Facebook statuses that read my life is perfect.  You find yourself wondering how come your life isn’t perfect?  You compare your family to television programs. THESE THNGS ARE NOT REAL!!!! Those models starve themselves and still get edited. The celebrities have lives that are “normal” behind closed doors.  Those Facebook posts that say their lives are perfect want you to believe it because they don’t want you to know how flawed their lives really are. Those television shows are scripted.  Wake up and see reality for what it truly is.

People have become so overwhelmed by trying to ‘keep up” many people have given up. Facebook posts and real life conversations have become depressing. How many times have you pulled up social media only to be bombarded with how miserable all of your “friends” are?  If it is not an overly exaggerated happy post it’s about how much their life sucks post. You know the statuses: ” I stubbed my toe. Could my day get any worse?”  You get that call from your friend and you say Hey! How are you? Their response “Not good” and then they go on for an hour about how bad they have it. Now instead of competing for materialistic things we are competing to see who is more pitiful. I can’t take much more of it so I am going to try to do something about it. It is time to be yourselves and BE HAPPY in your own skin.

Over the next year I will be interviewing everyday people with extraordinary stories. Many of these people could have simply given up and become defeated by the hand they were dealt but they don’t they  keep pushing forward one day at a time. The great thing about these people they are positive and happy. Not to say their situations aren’t beyond difficult.  It’s their attitudes that make them truly remarkable human beings. I hope from reading about their lives you can gain some perspective and inspiration and learn how to be content and even dare I say HAPPY with yourself again.

We have the power to change the way we see ourselves and the world around us.

“We are what we think. All that we are arises with our thoughts. With our thoughts we make the world.”
